As of Monday of this week, fall arrived with vigour here in Manitoba and that has us craving all things wholesome and cozy, but also dreaming about our next sunny get away just a pinch. Especially when it includes designs from one of our favourite lighting brands. Find cocktails perfect for a dark and stormy night, fun foraging/diy projects and the most binge worthy show, amongst other things, in this month's mood.

Masseria Moroseta
We can't help dreaming about a visit to this stunning mediterranean sanctuary. Masseria Moroseta is a boutique farmhouse located in the countryside of Ostuni, Italy, near the Adriatic coast in Puglia. Built in a traditional Apulian style, it blends minimalist design with rustic charm. Note the various Flos lights sprinkled in the space! Surrounded by olive groves, the masseria offers stunning views of the sea and countryside. The farmhouse features natural materials, serene interiors, and a focus on sustainability, making it a peaceful retreat. Mary Pratt
Can we take a moment and admire the incredibly detailed and almost photo like paintings of Mary Pratt, please? Pratt was a painter known for her hyper-realistic depictions of everyday domestic scenes and is considered one of Canada's most important realist painters. Born in 1935 in Fredericton, NB, she became famous for her ability to capture the beauty and complexity of light, often focusing on food and household objects. Her vibrant, detailed works, such as glowing jars of jam or freshly baked bread, reflect both her technical skill and a deep appreciation for the subtleties of domestic life. We're in awe of how skillfully she depicted everyday moments.

Chance Peña
Sara recently went to a Kaleo concert and was positively surprised when she realized Chance Peña was the warm-up act. He's pretty much been playing on repeat since then. He blends classic storytelling with more modern music influences, which has created a perfect cocktail of sounds. We highly recommend a listen.

We are beyond excited to welcome Petit Magasin to Hut K yet another time. This time with the theme a.i. (artistic intelligence). We're always blown away by the skills of the amazing artists that participate and this show promises nothing less. We can't wait to share this special event with you. Mark your calendars for our opening night Oct 24! The show can be found in store and online until Nov 10.

Crisp Gnocchi w/ Brussels Sprouts
Fall has arrived with all it's vigour here in Winnipeg, and with that we enter the season of savoury and comforting dishes. This gnocchi and brussels sprouts dish is full of flavour and makes for a quick weeknight meal using shelf staple gnocchi straight from the bag and into the pan. It can certainly be had on its own but would also pair beautifully with crispy skin chicken thighs.

We're nothing other than intrigued by this cocktail. With ingredients such as stout, whiskey and orange liqueur, it promises to be a hearty and soothing cocktail for those cold fall evenings we have ahead of us.

These easy to make lanterns are equally stunning day and night. They're delicately looking during daytime and will cast a beautiful ambient light when lit at night. The fun part is going leaf hunting and this is a craft that suits both kids and adults alike. We think they will look gorgeous on the front step!

This one day opportunity to score pre-owned art (in all price ranges) takes place on Oct 6 (Yes! Tomorrow!) at the St. Vital centre in Winnipeg. The initiative is a part of Manitoba Culture Days. With several mazes, it's ranked one of the best haunted experiences in North America. It's not for the faint hearted, but if this is your kinda jam we think you will have a blast.
