March Mood '24

March, and spring has arrived! Maybe? With a little bit of luck? Regardless, we are hopeful and attempting to spread some spring feelings with this months mood. Read through for a delicious recipe that works both on a warm and sunny spring day as well as when the spring snow storm hits. You will also find cabin inspiration, spring-break suggestions, and we've featured a movie that will have you scream for spring in a matter of seconds in our March Mood. Enjoy!

Cabin Knapphulet
Nestled between two large rocks on an island in the Norwegian archipelago, this cabin feels big despite the small 30 square meter footprint. The big glass windows and the bench extending from the living area out onto the terrace makes it feel expansive. The design of this cabin is impeccably executed with the materials carrying over from the interior to the exterior, making the space seamless and well thought out. The roof even multifunction as stairs to the roof terrace where the owner has a panoramic view over the sea.

There is no secret that we are big fans of Maud Lewis art! You can currently see some of her art in person at the exhibition at Mayberry Fine Art's in Winnipeg. The exhibition runs until March 9, so there's just enough time to squeeze it in!

With the zero proof industry growing, and having Sobr Market located in Winnipeg, it felt only right to feature a mocktail in this months mood. Negroni is a never-fail classic, but let's try this version for flavour filled, booze free sipping.

The Book
What's more spring like, and will without a doubt give you the feelings of spring,  than the classic children's book The Secret Garden? Written by Frances Hodgson Burnett,  the novel tells the story of a young orphaned girl who is sent to live with her distant uncle. Once there she starts to explore her surroundings and its secrets. It's a great read for children and adults alike. Perhaps to read together during spring break?
The book can be found here

The Movie
The Secret Garden has been adapted into a motion picture a few times over the last 60 years with the latest version arriving in 2020. The production team behind this adaptation is also known for producing the Harry Potter movies, which only means that this version of The Secret Garden is nothing short of magical. The garden is created by sourcing and shooting in the most stunning gardens Great Britain has to offer, and we love that they've gone to length to curate the garden this way. The movie also indicates that nature can be healing, which is oh, so true!
Available to rent or buy on most streaming services.
