Sunbirds stems from Lucia Eames’ fascination with observing nature up close, translatingorganic forms into a graphic composition with an almost calligraphic quality. The design
unfolds from acentral motif that expands outward, reinterpreting traditional rugs through a contemporary lens.
Crafted from hand-braided jute and later stitched together, it introduces a technique that creates a richly textured surface. The interweaving of fibers produces subtle color variations, combining the honesty of Natural Materials with a refined visual language.
Its flat structure and the durability of jute make it especially suited for spaces where authenticity, texture and longevity are key.
