January Mood '26
Fresh starts and winter vibes. January design crushes, cozy rituals, comfor recipes, and inspiration worth staying in for. This month is all about slow design, warm interiors, playful colour, and small rituals that make winter feel intentional. From thoughtful architecture and creative studios to comforting bites, fireside bites, fireside sips, and moments of reflection worth savouring.
The Mori House
This design by Shedbuilt is the kind of space that feels perfect for January. Clean, calm, and quietly inspiring. Natural wood takes centre stage, paired with soft neutral tones, stone textures, and simple, well-chosen furniture that lets the architecture shine. Large windows and skylights flood the interiors with winter light, while warm materials keep everything feeling cozy instead of cold. The overall vibe is relaxed, modern, and grounded, an easy mix of Pacific Northwest warmth and thoughtful design that feels like a fresh reset for the new year. This is how I want the year to feel.

Looking ahead into 2026, interior design is leaning into spaces that feel warmer, more personal, and deeply lived-in. Expect rich, earthy colour palettes, layered textures, and a continued shift toward natural materials like wood, stone, and clay. Curves soften furniture and architecture, vintage and handcrafted pieces add character, and homes feel less styled and more expressive. The focus is on comfort, individuality, and spaces that reflect how we actually live. Less perfection, more perosnality.
